Change Data Capture

Change data capture is the process of updating a table with only those records that have changed since the last update process was performed. For tables that change often but only a small percentage of the rows in the table are changing, this can be a very efficient way to maintain the data in a table.

This activity is typically found in data warehouse and data mart environments where a table is maintained against some source table, or set of source tables, in another system. The goal of this module is to provide a very simple method to define and manage change data capture for specifice target tables.

The Change Data Capture module (CDC) builds on the JCL module and extends it for this particular purpose. The CDC module is currently in test and will be made available here if there is enough interest.
